The Schengen Visa (Type C) allows you to stay in Austria and all other Schengen member states for a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period. This is the most common visa for short-term visits.

Requirements

Valid passport (minimum 3 months beyond planned departure, issued within last 10 years, at least 2 blank pages)
Completed visa application form
Two recent passport photos (35x45mm, light background)
Travel health insurance (minimum €30,000 coverage for all Schengen states)
Proof of accommodation (hotel booking, invitation letter from host)
Proof of sufficient financial means (bank statements, traveller's cheques)
Proof of purpose of travel (invitation letter, conference registration, etc.)
Round-trip flight reservation
Proof of employment or self-employment in home country
